Your Engineering Career
Which Path Will You Choose?

I’m Mathew Georghiou. When I was a young engineer at IBM, I faced a choice — continue on a purely technical path and become an expert in a specific skill or technology… or move toward the business side of engineering, such as project management, marketing, or business development.

I ended up choosing a third option — I quit to start my own business. Since then, I’ve created software apps, designed games, published books, and invented toys (photo below). I never realized how much I enjoyed business until I ran my own.

At some point, you may face the same decision in your engineering career.

If the business option interests you, perhaps you have feelings of uncertainty? Do you know enough about business? Do you need an MBA?

And while another degree may be nice to have, do you really want to invest big money and years of your life (and your free time) pursuing it?

Personally, I was done with “school” and never wanted to return. I found it slow, boring, and uninspiring. After I left, I discovered that I actually love learning — just not in the old-school way.

What if there were a better way to gain business skills (and confidence) that is easier, faster, and more affordable?

This is what I spent my entrepreneurial career doing — building a better way to learn business.

You don’t have to miss out on new career opportunities. And you don’t have to learn business through the school of hard knocks like I did.

Backed by 25+ years of research and development, my team and I have created the ultimate way to learn and practice — through games and simulations.

We call it businessXP — where the XP stands for experience. I think it's perfect for the mind of an engineer.
